Common questions
What time is the FFXIV daily reset?
15:00 GMT every day. It covers duty roulettes, allied society quests, the Mini Cactpot and the Frontline map swap. Grand Company turn-ins and chocobo training are separate and reset at 20:00 GMT, and Cosmic Exploration dailies reset at 09:00 GMT.
What time is the FFXIV weekly reset?
Tuesday at 08:00 GMT. It clears tomestone caps, savage lockouts, Wondrous Tails, Faux Hollows, the Challenge Log, custom deliveries and hunt marks.
When does the Doman Enclave donation budget reset?
Tuesday at 08:00 GMT, the same moment as the weekly reset. The Shazenkai budget for donation gratuity is between 20,000 and 40,000 gil depending on how far the reconstruction has progressed, and it refills in full each week.
When does the Ocean Fishing boat leave?
Boarding opens on every even hour at Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks and the Endeavor sails 15 minutes later, full or not. The voyage itself runs about 25 to 30 minutes.
How often is the Triple Triad Open Tournament?
Registration opens every two hours at the Gold Saucer and stays open for 30 minutes. Entry is free and you play three matches.
When does the Frontline map change?
At the daily reset, 15:00 GMT. Five maps take turns as the daily challenge: The Borderland Ruins (Secure), Seal Rock (Seize), The Fields of Glory (Shatter), Onsal Hakair (Danshig Naadam) and Worqor Chirteh (Triumph). The chart shows where each swap falls, and the Duty Finder tells you which map is up today.
How long is the FFXIV housing lottery cycle?
Nine days. Five days of entry where you place a bid, then four days of results where winners claim their plot. The phases swap at 15:00 GMT and the loop has not shifted since it arrived in patch 6.1.
Does FFXIV server time change with daylight saving?
No. Server time is GMT all year round, so it never shifts. What changes is your own offset from it, which is why a reset can feel like it moved by an hour in spring and autumn. This page follows your device clock, so it handles that for you.
The small print
- Ocean Fishing
- Boarding opens on even hours and the Endeavor sails 15 minutes later, whether the boat is full or not. The voyage itself runs roughly 25 to 30 minutes, so the block shows the window you need to be stood at Dryskthota for.
- Triple Triad Open Tournament
- Registration opens every two hours for half an hour. Three matches per run, no MGP to enter, and the ruleset alternates between basic and advanced. If your client shows the window an hour out from this chart, tell me and I will shift the anchor.
- Gold Saucer GATE
- A GATE starts every 20 minutes on the hour, twenty past and twenty to. The block marks the start, not how long the minigame lasts.
- Eorzea night
- An Eorzean day lasts 70 real minutes, so night runs for 35 of them and comes round about twenty times a day. Handy for weather locked nodes and fates. If you want a specific in game hour rather than just night, my Eorzea Time Converter does the sums.
- Cosmic Exploration
- Daily objectives and banked success points roll over at 09:00 GMT, which is nothing to do with the normal daily reset.
- Leve allowances
- Three allowances land every 12 hours, at midnight and midday GMT, up to a cap of 100.
- Doman Enclave
- The Shazenkai only has so much gil to hand out as gratuity, between 20,000 and 40,000 depending on how far the reconstruction has got. That budget refills at 08:00 GMT on Tuesday. It has no row of its own because that is the exact same moment as the weekly reset, so the weekly reset line covers it.
- Resets
- The daily reset is 15:00 GMT and covers roulettes, allied society quests, the Mini Cactpot and the Frontline map swap. Grand Company turn-ins, squadron courses and chocobo training run on their own clock at 20:00 GMT. The weekly reset is Tuesday 08:00 GMT.
- Frontline
- The daily challenge map swaps with the daily reset at 15:00 GMT, taking turns between Secure, Seize, Shatter, Naadam and Triumph. The chart shows each map's day as a band so you can see exactly where the swap falls, but it does not name which map, because working out where in the rotation we are means guessing and I would rather be silent than wrong. Check the Duty Finder for today's.
- Fashion Report
- Masked Rose takes entries from Friday 08:00 GMT right up to the Tuesday reset, so the open window is four days long and the closed stretch is three. Both show as bands on the chart.
- Housing lottery
- There are only two phases, five days of bidding then four days to claim, green then mauve on the chart. They swap at 15:00 GMT and the nine day loop has not shifted once since it arrived in patch 6.1. Maintenance can still lock you out of entering though, so do not leave a bid to the last hour.
- Reminders
- Click any event, on the chart or in the coming up list, and it gets a bell. You then get a warning before every run of it, 30 seconds ahead by default and up to 5 minutes if you change it in settings. It can be a chime, a desktop notification, or both. Everything is timed off the audio clock rather than a normal timer, so it still lands on the second when the tab is in the background, though the tab does have to stay open. Your picks are saved in your own browser and nowhere else.
- Day and week
- The week view is the same chart stretched over seven days. Anything that comes round faster than every three hours collapses into one band, since sixty blocks a day would only ever look like a smear at that scale.
- Time zones
- Everything here is anchored to GMT, which is what the game calls server time, then converted in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored beyond your own reminder choices.
